Jazz and World Music Festival
Capital University's Conservatory of Music will present the 25th Annual Jazz & World Music Festival in April, 2019. This event features music by student, faculty and guest ensemble concerts, both on campus and in the community, and world-class jazz artists in clinics, workshops, and in concert throughout the period. All events are free and open to the public unless marked otherwise. A full schedule will be coming.
Friday, April 12, is earmarked for the Jazz Ensemble Invitational, bringing together middle and high school, collegiate and community jazz ensembles from within a multi-state region, and our own Capital ensembles for a friendly non-competitive atmosphere in an educationally emphasized setting.
At 10 a.m. we will feature the world renowned Airmen of Note! At 11 am, an array of clinic offerings from our featured Airmen artists/guest adjudicators will include: the saxophone section, the trumpet section, the trombone section, and rhythm section. Enjoy a delicious lunch offering (additional fee required) at noon with entertainment provided by Capital ensembles. Plan to stick around for the many fine performances by guest school ensembles and an assortment of Capital ensembles from 1 pm-7 pm in both Huntington Recital Hall and Mees Auditorium.
